Bio
BLOODHUNTER is a Spanish melodic death metal band founded in Galicia in 2008 by guitarist and songwriter DANI ARCOS.
Driven by extreme vocals, aggressive riffing, melodic lead guitars and a dark, modern atmosphere, BLOODHUNTER has built a sound that bridges the intensity of death metal with the sharpness and memorability of melodic metal. From the beginning, the band has stood for ambition, precision and a clear international mindset, pushing Spanish extreme metal beyond its local boundaries.
After several early line-up changes and the release of their first demos, BLOODHUNTER reached a defining turning point with the arrival of vocalist DIVA SATANICA in 2012. Her powerful and unmistakable voice became one of the band’s strongest trademarks, helping shape the identity that would carry BLOODHUNTER into its first major chapter.
In 2013, the band released The First Insurrection, a demo EP that introduced BLOODHUNTER to the underground metal scene and laid the foundation for their full-length debut.
One year later, the band released their self-titled first album, Bloodhunter (2014), produced by Daniel Cardoso and Pedro Mendes at Ultrasound Studios. The album received international distribution across Europe, Japan, the United States and Mexico, giving the band its first exposure outside Spain and establishing BLOODHUNTER as one of the most promising names in the Spanish extreme metal scene.
In 2015, DANI ARCOS took part in the international 100 Guitars From Hel event in Finland, performing alongside ALEXI LAIHO and other notable guitarists from the metal world. This appearance reinforced the band’s connection with the wider European metal scene and highlighted the guitar-driven identity at the core of BLOODHUNTER’s music.
The band’s second album, The End of Faith (2017), produced by Álex Cappa at The Metal Factory Studios, marked a heavier and more mature step forward. With a darker sound and a more focused songwriting approach, the album helped BLOODHUNTER consolidate its place within the Spanish metal circuit and opened the door to major festival appearances, including Resurrection Fest and Leyendas del Rock, where the band shared festival bills with international acts such as Megadeth, Rainbow and At The Gates.
That same year, DIVA SATANICA reached a wider mainstream audience through her participation in La Voz España, the Spanish edition of The Voice. Her appearance brought additional visibility to BLOODHUNTER and introduced one of the band’s most distinctive trademarks — her extreme vocal identity — to a much broader audience.
In the following years, BLOODHUNTER continued expanding their live presence, performing across Spain and bringing their music to international stages. This growing experience strengthened the band’s reputation as a forceful live act, capable of delivering their blend of melodic death metal intensity to audiences far beyond their home country.
In 2022, BLOODHUNTER released their third studio album, Knowledge Was the Price. The record represented another creative evolution for the band and featured high-profile collaborations with TIM RIPPER OWENS, former vocalist of Judas Priest and Iced Earth, and ROSALÍA SAIREM of Therion. With this album, BLOODHUNTER pushed further into a darker, more ambitious sound while keeping the melodic and aggressive elements that had defined the band from the start.
Following the release of Knowledge Was the Price, BLOODHUNTER entered one of the most internationally active periods of its career. The band expanded its live presence beyond Spain through an Asian tour, including China, and a later tour focused on China, continuing to build its reputation on international stages. This period also brought one of the band’s biggest milestones to date: their performance at Graspop Metal Meeting in 2025, one of Europe’s most important metal festivals. The show confirmed BLOODHUNTER’s growing visibility within the international metal scene and marked a key step forward before the release of their next studio album.
The road to that album was introduced through new material with a sharper, more direct and more modern approach. Songs such as The Devil’s Own, The Outspoken and Threshold of Hell showed a renewed version of BLOODHUNTER while preserving the band’s core identity: extreme vocals, melodic guitar work and high-impact metal songwriting.
BLOODHUNTER then joined forces with FM Music Management and ROAR, a Reigning Phoenix Music division. The band’s fourth studio album, Sons of the Abandoned, released on June 12, 2026, stands as their most ambitious work to date: darker, sharper and more mature, while staying true to the melodic death metal foundations that have defined BLOODHUNTER since the beginning.
With an international live track record, a renewed creative vision and a growing catalogue of powerful releases, BLOODHUNTER continues to push forward with one clear purpose: to take Spanish melodic death metal to a wider global audience.
